How it Works

VibraCool® works with the same logic of Gate Control Theory, similar to Buzzy®. Essentially, the cold and vibration dull the sensation of pain by providing competing signals to the brain via the spinal cord. The M-Stim™ device delivers high-frequency, low-amplitude oscillation that targets the kinds of mechanical nerve receptors that sense deep pressure.

High frequency M-Stim™ technology offers is based on the following 3 assumptions: a) Ice reduces inflammation, b) Vibration increases blood flow and c) Vibration improves mobility. While ice decreases pain and inflammation, it can also decrease blood flow and stiffen muscles. Adding massage improves blood flow, enhancing the removal of lactic acid, cytokines and injured tissue, while vibrational massage reduces pain and loosens stiff muscles achieving pain relief and the treatment of muscle injuries.

How to use:

Freeze Ice Packs

Ice packs will stay frozen 10 to 20 minutes at room temperature. For best pain relief, the packs must be frozen solid to avoid absorbing vibration.

*For Plantar/Neck units, the wing-shaped ice packs last 10 minutes at room temperature.

Place VibraCool®

First place ice packs on or above the point of pain. For intense cold, use the blue side of the ice packs. For milder cold, use the white, soft side. Place VibraCool over the ice packs, and wrap the strap around and secure to itself. You can also use the vibration unit by itself directly on trigger points for additional relief, or to help wake muscles up before exercise.

Insert VibraCool® Unit Into Compression Strap

VibraCool fits snugly in the pocket of the compression strap. See full instructions for more guidance for different models and uses

*If you are using a Plantar/Neck unit, the strap is already threaded through the unit. The wing-shaped ice packs slide through the elastic strap on the back of the unit.

Activate VibraCool®

Firmly press the button on top of the unit to start 10 minutes of high-frequency vibration. Keep the VibraCool® on for 10 minutes or for as long as recommended by your doctor or physical therapist. It is not recommended to use for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Choose Hot or Cold

You can use the VibraCool® ice packs or hot snap packs. Cold packs are recommended for most use cases, but heat may be more comfortable for some, especially for muscle spasms. If cold choose ice packs will stay frozen for 10-20 minutes at room temperature. For best pain relief, the packs must be frozen solid to avoid absorbing vibration.

 Place Vibration Unit

Place the VibraCool® vibration unit into the neoprene pouch. You can also use the vibration unit by itself directly on trigger points for additional relief, or to help wake muscles up before exercise.

Position VibraCool® and turn ON

Place frozen ice pack or activated heat snap underneath the strap and secure snugly over the area of pain. See full instructions for more guidance for different models and uses. Activate vibration by firmly pressing the button on top of the unit for a couple seconds. It is not recommended to use for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Turn VibraCool® On

Activate vibration by firmly pressing the button on top of the unit for a couple seconds. It is not recommended to use for more than 20 minutes at a time.
